Problem
How to connect a Snap-On scanner (Zeus, Solus Plus, Triton, etc.) to Shift so scan data flows into the repair order.
Cause
Snap-On scanners integrate with Shift through Altus Drive (Snap-On Cloud). Shift needs your Altus Drive ID to pull reports. Older Snap-On scanners only work via Altus Drive.
Resolution
- Go to https://altusdrive.com/Home and log in.
- After login, look at the URL — the 32-character string at the end is your Altus Drive ID. Copy it.
- In Shift, go to Settings → Diagnostic.
- Paste the ID into 'Altus Drive ID.'
- Click 'Save' in the top right of Settings.
- The 'Sync' button will become clickable — click it to confirm. (If 'Sync' is greyed out, you haven't saved yet, or the in-app chat widget is covering the Save button — close the chat and try again.)
- The ID is set once per shop and applies to all users in that shop.
- To copy a scan report into Tekmetric: open the RO, click the 'Report' button in the extension (second from the left). This copies the scan URL and codes to your clipboard for pasting wherever you need.
