Heavy-duty vehicles (RAM 5500, etc.) aren't supported in OEM maintenance

Heavy-duty trucks (e.g., RAM 5500) don't return OEM maintenance recommendations in Shift, even though the VIN decodes correctly.

Problem

Heavy-duty trucks (e.g., RAM 5500) don't return OEM maintenance recommendations in Shift, even though the VIN decodes correctly.

Cause

Shift's OEM maintenance schedule database is built and validated for light-duty vehicles. Heavy-duty vehicles fall outside our current data coverage.

Resolution

  1. You can try heavy-duty vehicles in Shift, but expect the OEM maintenance section to come back empty.
  2. As a workaround, build out your shop's intervals for heavy-duty services and add them as canned jobs in Tekmetric.
  3. Heavy-duty support is feedback-driven — let support know which models you'd like to see prioritized.
