# Make an inspection (e.g., 'Initial Check-In') auto-add to every repair order

## You want a specific inspection (commonly an 'Initial Check-In') to be added automatically to every new repair order.

## Problem

You want a specific inspection (commonly an 'Initial Check-In') to be added automatically to every new repair order.

## Cause

Shift respects Tekmetric's default inspection settings. The default behavior is controlled in your inspection settings.

## Resolution

1. Open your Inspection Settings.
2. Toggle 'Default' on for the inspection you want auto-added. You can also adjust default visibility from the same menu.
3. Note: this enables Shift's built-in default inspections. If you used a custom inspection (built outside Shift) before, that specific inspection is not added by toggling this setting — you'll need to recreate or import it.
4. If you want maintenance recommendations added automatically to every RO, that is a separate workflow — contact support if you'd like guidance.
